How to migrate Xero to Odoo

Before you start

Three things to sort out first

  • Agree the cut-over date with the client, usually the end of a month or a financial year.
  • Reconcile the Xero bank accounts up to that date, so the reconciliation comes across complete.
  • Ask a Xero user with access to the organisation to approve the connection.

Migrating Xero to Odoo in 6 steps

    Create a free partner account

    Connect the client's data

    Send the client a link co-branded with your logo. They sign in to Xero and approve access to the organisation.

    Run the conversion

    OLaunch builds the Odoo database with the client's history in it. Most databases finish in 30 minutes to 12 hours, and you get an email when it's done.

    Check the verification reports

    Every run produces reports that compare Odoo with the source system. Go through them with the client's accountant.

    Use the converted database to show the client their own data in Odoo, train their team and rehearse go-live. Run the conversion again as often as you need.
